Only 5 minutes from the center of Southport, our comfortable and modern guesthouse is situated right on the edge of Birkdale village.
As well as a selection of cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants, our traditional village also boasts an award-winning butcher’s, cheese centre and fishmongers.
As a local, family business ourselves we believe in supporting our village. Wherever possible we source our produce from shops in Birkdale including local eggs, tasty bacon, award winning butcher’s sausages and the famous Bury Black Pudding.
We are within a third of a mile of 3 restaurants rated 4.5 out of 5 stars by Trip Advisor.
Southport, with its fantastic shopping, varied restaurants and lively nightlife, is only one stop away by train or a 5 minute car ride.
Further afield, Liverpool, with its historic buildings, world famous music scene, Liverpool One shopping centre, Albert Docks and Waterfront is easily accessible by car, bus or train.
Our Facilities
Our bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation can offer a combination of double, twin or single rooms and a family suite which provides safety and privacy for guests with children.
On the ground floor is the dining room, where we serve a fantastic breakfast with food sourced from our local suppliers and always freshly cooked to order.
Close to the dining room is a comfortable guest lounge where you can watch TV, play board games or read from our well stocked library.
Outside there is free off street parking for five cars. Bicycles and golf clubs can also be locked away securely for you.
All our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and the en-suite shower rooms contain a hair drier, alarm clock and a toiletries pack. An iron and ironing board are available on request. We can also supply wine glasses, cork screws, bottle openers etc. Free wi-fi is available in all guest rooms and communal areas.
We can check you in any time after 3pm, and we ask that you vacate your room before 11am on the day you leave. To check in earlier or check out at a later time please make arrangements with us well before you arrive and we will try to accommodate your request, but we will need at least 24 hours notice. Also as a courtesy, please can you let us know if you will be arriving after 9pm.

We stayed at the Birkdale Guest House for two nights whilst visiting relatives, room was lovely, very friendly relaxed atmosphere.
We enjoyed our two night stay immensely enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, lovely room, friendly home from home. Would definitely recommend at stay at the Birkdale Guesthouse, top marks.

“Great Guest House” – 5 out of 5 stars
Stayed at this guest house from 3rd to 5th March is an excellent place. Marion and her husband are really lovely people and make you really welcome. Breakfast was of very high standard and the rooms were very clean and bed very comfortable would recommend this guest house probably better than hotels in Southport
